Hibiscus has begun threatening that she's going to run away from our family, leaving behind each one of us (named and pointed at accusingly, including Buttercup), and go back to the orphanage, and get a NEW muzungo family to take care of her. I have to get my irony out by writing out her family-wanted ad:
"6.5 year old overwhelmingly emotional not-exactly-orphan (with full complement of complex-background issues as expected for Older Child), expert at the high-decibel scream, seeks new family. Criteria: family must have NO RULES WHATSOEVER, be willing to spend all day snuggling and agreeing with child, and never send child to school. Bonus points if they are willing to buy whatever toy or edible treat child sees in store; child promises to only ask for one item per store, at least if her mouth is still full. (Please reply ASAP, as I am tired of getting beatings for being naughty at the orphanage.)"
